OUR STORY
I didn’t always plan to build a food brand...
I was an engineer, shaped by discipline and a strong sports background—someone who believed in structure, performance, and doing things the “right” way. Like many, I followed a conventional path, working in the corporate world for a few years. Life was predictable, stable… and then it changed.
After my marriage, I moved to the United States, stepping into a completely new phase—personally and professionally. I was navigating job searches, a new culture, and at the same time, the world came to a standstill during COVID. In the middle of that uncertainty, I became a mother. That phase brought a pause—a gap in my career, but also a shift in perspective I hadn’t expected.
A couple of years later, while traveling in Switzerland with my two-year-old son, I faced a simple but powerful moment. I couldn’t find snacks I felt good about giving him. Everywhere I looked, it was the same options—puffs, chips, popcorn—nothing that felt truly nourishing.
That moment stayed with me.
When I returned, I called my mother and asked a simple question: “What did you give us when we were kids?”
Her answer was equally simple—everything homemade. Millet papads, khakhras, wholesome snacks made with care, ingredients we trusted, and recipes passed down through generations.
That conversation sparked something.
I went back into my kitchen and started experimenting—trying to recreate those childhood foods in a way that fits today’s lifestyle. I wanted snacks that were easy, healthy, and genuinely delicious. Not just “better-for-you,” but something you’d actually crave.
What began as small batches in my kitchen slowly turned into something bigger.
Today, I’m proud to say—
Hello, I’m the founder of UTSAV, a brand that brings preservative-free millet snacks to modern families—rooted in tradition, made for today.
Because sometimes, the best ideas don’t come from a business plan—
they come from a mother’s question and a memory of home.
